The history is set in 1585 (16th century) in diffrent places of England ( Cambridge, Castle of Mary Stuart, Castle of Elizabeth etc) and Spain.
On one hand it is Spain , the most powerful empire of the Europe, ruled by Philip II (Catholic), on the other hand was the only country able to defy Spain, England, ruled by Queen Elizabeth.
In rejection to the fact of England be ruled by a protestant queen, Philip of Spain will find (create) a reason to attack England, at the same time Elizabeth will find herself involved in a forbidden love history while is betrayed by her "family" to give to Philip the reason that he want.

Elizabeth: around 52 years emotive, adventuress, warrior, peaceful, worried, inteligent, strongh and calm.
Sir Walter Raleigh: dreamer, "pirate", adventurer, courageus, strongh, patriot, warrior and manipulative .
Bess: beautiful, good friend, inteligent, adventuress.

Elizabeth: The Golden Age is an amazing recreation of one of the greatest periods of the British History, it actually helps to understand and experience that period and Queen Elizabeth’s love and pain. It makes you think about all that she was gone through, and if a movie can make you reflect about something, in the end that’s that matters.
