The group presentations have started, and so far, in our opinion, the best presentation was from the group of Fredrico Rodrigues, Natalia Bleidão and Louise Breijão, and they theme was The Power of Music, Glee and MTV.
The powerpoint presentation was perfect. It was a pleasant, and well thought presentation, only the necessary information was included in the powerpoint, well built and clean.
We think overall Frederico was who stood out more, speaking fluently and having an inside knowledge on the subject. If we and a criticism to say would be for him to make a bit more eye contact. Natalia had a good performance too, although she was reading a little too much, should be facing the audience. At last but not least Louise speaked softly, and the aundience further in the back couldn't listen to what she was saying, but otherwise we think she was alright.
Hopefully you can learn from our contructive critics and you can improve your mark even further next time.

Technological Revolution by MTV
" Video Killed The Radio Star" was the debut song of the Buggles, his music video it was the first shown on the MTV's launch at 12:01 on 1 August 1981 in the U.S. and it was number 1 on charts of 16 countries.
The song talks about the evolution of the media and how the old communications are swappwd by the newer ones, specifically in this case, the tapes and radio being replaced by television and music videos. The music says " the video killed the radio star", this means all the people who relied on the radio with they lives and jobs, were repleced by television," rewritten by machine on new technology" refers to advance of technology and this one influences the media.
Finally the song talks about the replacement of the radio by television, but this can also be applied to the presen in wich ironically television is being replaced by internet (" Internet Killed The Video star") until something else replaces this one.

English is an Earthquake bigger than any produced by tectonic plates
On Thursday (October 13, 2011) we spoke about English as an earthquake. This makes us remember an event in the past: the earthquake in Haiti that ocurred on January 12, 2010. This catastrophic event left millions of people without water, food and shelter.
Two weeks later, a group of around 80 artists and performers joined and using The English language in one song they try to raise funds to help the people of Haiti. With this they can prove that English is more than an earthquake, because an earthquake just move the people of Haiti and the "English" moved the rest of the people in the world to help those in need.
The song "We Are The World" was writen by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie and was reproduced by 45 artist, being released in 1985 to raise funds to the campaign "USA for Africa".
In 2010 this song suffer some modifications including in title to "We Are The World 25 For Haiti" to help the victims of the earthquake on Haiti but also to celebrate the 25 years of the original song being recorded in the same studio (A&M Recording Studios) that the original song. This version counts with executive producer Quincy Jones and as producer Lionel Richie.
The song "We Are The World 25 for Haiti" pretends to show to all the people in the world, that this world where we live is made by all the people, also pretends to show that if we think in those in needs and help them we can have a better day because we feel better with ourselves. this song ask to all world to help the others because one day if we need something there are people that will help us to.
